Target intelligence / Profile preview

Interleukin 1 Receptor Accessory Protein (IL1RAP)

Target
IL1RAP
Molecular classification
Receptor, Immunoglobulin superfamily
01

Overview

Interleukin 1 Receptor Accessory Protein (IL1RAP) is an essential co-receptor for several interleukin receptors, including IL1R1, IL-33 receptor, and IL-36 receptor. It mediates immune responses via cytokine-induced inflammation and participates in both innate and adaptive immunity. Aberrant activation of IL1RAP pathways contributes to autoimmune disorders, chronic inflammatory conditions, neurodegenerative diseases, fibrotic diseases, and cancer. It is being explored as a therapeutic target for eliminating malignant cells.
