Target intelligence / Profile preview
The Interleukin 15 receptor alpha subunit Fc fusion protein (IL-15Rα-Fc) is a recombinant fusion protein that combines the extracellular domain of the interleukin-15 receptor alpha (IL-15Rα) with the Fc region of an immunoglobulin. This design enhances stability, half-life, and bioactivity in vivo by leveraging both high-affinity IL-15 binding and the pharmacokinetic advantages conferred by the Fc domain. It functions primarily through high-affinity binding of IL-15 and transpresentation of IL-15 to cells expressing the IL-2/15Rβ and γc chains. IL-15Rα-Fc fusion proteins are being explored for cancer immunotherapy due to their ability to expand effector lymphocyte populations more potently than free cytokine alone.
Transpresentation of IL-15 to cells expressing IL-2/15Rβ and γc, leading to activation of downstream signaling pathways and immune cell proliferation and activation. Fc region may mediate ADCC.
