Interleukin 17 Receptor A (IL-17RA)

Target
IL-17RA
Molecular classification
Type I membrane glycoprotein, Cytokine receptor
01

Overview

Interleukin 17 receptor A (IL-17RA), also known as CDw217, is a type I membrane glycoprotein and a member of the cytokine receptor family. It serves as the primary receptor for interleukin 17A (IL-17A), a proinflammatory cytokine secreted by activated T lymphocytes. Binding of proinflammatory cytokines like interleukin 17A to this receptor triggers conformational changes that allow recruitment of adaptor proteins such as Act1 or TRAF proteins, leading to activation of NF‐κB, MAPK, and C/EBP pathways, resulting in increased production of inflammatory mediators.
