The interleukin-3 receptor (IL-3R), also known as CD123, is a cell surface receptor that mediates the biological effects of interleukin-3 (IL-3), a cytokine crucial for hematopoiesis and immune regulation. IL-3R is part of the type I cytokine receptor family and functions as a heterodimer composed of a unique alpha chain (IL3RA/CD123) and a common beta subunit (CD131). It is a therapeutic target in certain leukemias, particularly AML and BPDCN.
