Target intelligence / Profile preview

Interleukin 3 Receptor Subunit Alpha (CD123)

Target
CD123
Molecular classification
Type I cytokine receptor, Single-pass type I membrane protein
01

Overview

CD123, or Interleukin 3 Receptor Subunit Alpha, is a type I cytokine receptor that forms a heterodimeric complex with CD131. It mediates the effects of interleukin-3 by initiating downstream signaling pathways. It is expressed on hematopoietic progenitor cells, basophils, and dendritic cells, and is notably overexpressed in AML cells, making it a target for cancer therapy.
