Upon ligand binding to these cytokines’ specific receptors, gp130 dimerizes and initiates downstream intracellular signaling, particularly via the Janus kinase (JAK)/STAT pathway, to mediate processes such as inflammation, immune response, and cell proliferation[2][4][5]. Dysregulation of gp130 signaling is implicated in inflammatory diseases, cancers, and autoimmune disorders.
