Target intelligence / Profile preview
The interleukin-7 receptor (IL-7R) is a cell surface protein crucial for immune system development and function. It is a heterodimer composed of two subunits: IL-7 receptor alpha chain (IL-7Rα, also known as CD127) and the common gamma chain (γc). It plays essential role in immune system development by regulating proliferation/survival signals required for normal maturation/functioning of both B cells and T cells. Defects lead to profound immunodeficiencies or contribute to autoimmunity/cancer depending on context.
