Interleukin family members (IL family)

Interleukin family members are cytokines and their receptors that regulate diverse aspects of immune function, inflammation, and cell signaling. The family includes pro-inflammatory, anti-inflammatory, and regulatory cytokines such as interleukin-1α, interleukin-1β, interleukin-18, interleukin-33, interleukin-36 variants, and members with receptor antagonist activity (e.g., IL-1Ra, IL-36Ra, IL-38). Their receptors form a corresponding family, including IL-1R1 to IL-1R10. Specific therapeutic agents have been developed for several interleukin ligands and receptors, especially in inflammation, autoimmune diseases, and cancer. Given the breadth of this family, entries should be specified for individual interleukins or their receptors rather than the family collectively for meaningful drug-target analysis.
