Overview

The interleukin receptor common gamma chain (CD132 or IL2RG) is a critical cytokine receptor subunit shared by the receptors for IL-2, IL-4, IL-7, IL-9, IL-15, and IL-21. It is essential for lymphocyte development, function, and overall immune regulation. Mutations in IL2RG cause X-linked severe combined immunodeficiency (X-SCID).
