Internal Wind due to Liver Yang Rising is a diagnostic pattern in Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM) characterized by an imbalance where hyperactive Liver Yang generates endogenous 'Wind' (WHO, 2007). This condition typically arises from a chronic deficiency of Liver and Kidney Yin, which fails to restrain the Yang, leading it to ascend uncontrollably (Maciocia, 2015). Clinically, it manifests as severe dizziness, vertigo, tremors, or even sudden collapse and stroke (Sun et al., 2012). While not a single molecular target, it represents a complex pathophysiological state often correlated with hypertension and neurovascular disorders in Western medicine (Wang et al., 2018). Treatment involves herbal formulas designed to 'extinguish Wind' and 'anchor Yang,' such as Tian Ma Gou Teng Yin, which are thought to exert multi-target effects on the central nervous and cardiovascular systems (Zhu et al., 2019). Because it is a systemic syndrome rather than a specific protein or gene, it does not possess a standard molecular classification or a single mechanism of action.
