Overview

Intracellular pathways regulating apoptosis are complex signaling networks that determine whether a cell undergoes programmed cell death (apoptosis) in response to various internal and external stimuli. Common triggers include DNA damage, oxidative stress, and growth factor deprivation. Activation leads to characteristic morphological changes and phagocytic clearance without inflammation.
