Iodine-based X-ray contrast agents are pharmaceutical preparations containing iodine, used to enhance the visibility of internal structures during X-ray imaging procedures like CT scans and angiography. These agents increase X-ray attenuation in targeted tissues and vessels, improving diagnostic accuracy.
