Target intelligence / Profile preview
IQ motif and Sec7 domain 3 pseudogene 3 (IQSEC3P3) is a genomic region in humans homologous to the functional gene IQSEC3 but rendered nonfunctional by disabling genetic changes. Pseudogenes like IQSEC3P3 do not encode functional protein products and play no direct pharmacological or therapeutic role. While some pseudogenes may regulate gene expression or generate noncoding RNAs, there is no evidence that IQSEC3P3 has any regulatory or disease role. In molecular biology, pseudogenes may occasionally complicate genetic studies due to sequence similarity with functional genes, potentially causing amplification bias in assays such as PCR.
