IQCH antisense RNA 1 (IQCH-AS1) is a long non-coding RNA transcribed antisense to the protein-coding IQCH gene. It has been shown to modulate cellular pathways by acting as a competing endogenous RNA (ceRNA), particularly sponging miR-196a-5p and impacting the expression of PPP2R1B. In thyroid cancer, IQCH-AS1 is significantly downregulated, and its overexpression increases the sensitivity of cancer cells to doxorubicin, highlighting a potential role in chemoresistance. IQCH-AS1 is correlated with cancer patient survival and may serve as a biomarker for diagnosis and prognosis in oncology, especially in thyroid cancer[6][5]. There is no evidence that IQCH-AS1 encodes a protein or functions as a receptor, enzyme, transporter, or conventional therapeutic target molecule[6][5][7].
