Overview

ITIH4 antisense RNA 1 (ITIH4-AS1) is a long non-coding RNA (lncRNA) transcribed from the DNA strand antisense to the ITIH4 gene. As an antisense RNA, its main molecular function is regulation of ITIH4 expression, likely via modulating the stability, translation, or transcription of ITIH4 mRNA[6][7]. In cancer, specifically colorectal cancer, ITIH4-AS1 has been shown to accelerate cell proliferation and metastasis by activating the JAK/STAT3 signaling pathway, possibly by facilitating the nuclear translocation of phosphorylated STAT3 through interactions with the RNA-binding protein FUS[3]. ITIH4-AS1 is not a receptor, enzyme, or classical drug target, but rather an RNA molecule involved in gene regulation and cancer progression. It is not currently known to interact directly with any drugs, nor are there established mechanisms of therapeutic action, biomarkers, or safety concerns specific to ITIH4-AS1.
