Overview

ITPR-interacting domain-containing protein 1 (ITPRID1) is a human protein encoded by the ITPRID1 gene, also known as CCDC129. It is characterized by the presence of coiled-coil domains. ITPRID1 is predicted to enable signaling receptor binding activity, but its precise molecular function remains largely uncharacterized. Some studies suggest a potential role in apoptosis and neuronal death pathways, possibly acting as a mediator between the tumor suppressor p53 and BAX proteins, but direct evidence for these functions is limited[1][7][8]. Disease associations identified include lung acinar adenocarcinoma and Tn polyagglutination syndrome[2]. There are no known drugs that directly target this protein, and its utility as a biomarker or therapeutic target is currently unsupported by available evidence.
