JDP2 antisense RNA 1 (JDP2-AS1)

Target
JDP2-AS1
Molecular classification
Non-coding RNA
01

Overview

JDP2 antisense RNA 1 (JDP2-AS1) is presumed to be a long non-coding RNA transcribed from the opposite strand of the JDP2 locus. Very limited published research or drug discovery information is available for JDP2-AS1 as a distinct molecule. The primary well-characterized entity at this locus is the Jun dimerization protein 2 (JDP2), a transcription factor belonging to the AP-1 family, which acts as a heterodimerization partner for c-Jun, plays a role in gene regulation, cell differentiation, apoptosis, and certain disease processes including cancer and bone homeostasis. There is no evidence to support JDP2-AS1 as a validated or characterized therapeutic target.

02

Biological functions

Unknown; there is no well-characterized biological function for JDP2-AS1 distinct from Jun dimerization protein 2
03

Disease associations

Unknown; disease associations (e.g., cancer, differentiation, apoptosis) pertain to JDP2, not JDP2-AS1
