Jeotgalicoccus

Jeotgalicoccus is a genus of Gram-positive, coccoid, nonmotile, facultatively anaerobic, and halotolerant to halophilic bacteria. These organisms are found in diverse environments, including salted foods such as Korean fish sauce (jeotgal), marine habitats, and animal sources[1][2][3][5][6][8]. The genus includes several species, and while structurally related to other members of the Staphylococcaceae family, Jeotgalicoccus itself is not currently recognized as a direct cause of disease nor as a target of specific therapies. Based on all available information, Jeotgalicoccus should be classified as a bacterial genus and not as a therapeutic molecular target, receptor, enzyme, or transporter[1][2][8].
