Katanin regulatory subunit B1 like 1 pseudogene 3 (KATNBL1P3) is a processed pseudogene located in the human genome (Ensembl: ENSG00000235422, HGNC:49053), derived as an inactive copy of the parental gene KATNBL1, which encodes a regulatory subunit of the microtubule-severing protein complex, katanin. As a pseudogene, KATNBL1P3 does not produce a functional protein, and there is no evidence it is involved in therapeutic targeting, disease mechanisms, or biological signaling. Pseudogenes can, however, play specialized RNA-based regulatory roles in rare cases, but no such function has been identified or suggested for KATNBL1P3.
