Target intelligence / Profile preview

Kazal-type serine protease inhibitor domain-containing protein 1 (KAZALD1)

Target
KAZALD1
Molecular classification
Serine protease inhibitor, Insulin-like growth factor binding protein family (IGFBP superfamily), Secreted protein, Contains Kazal-type domain, immunoglobulin-like domain, follistatin-like domain
01

Overview

Kazal-type serine protease inhibitor domain-containing protein 1 (KAZALD1) is a secreted protein with a Kazal-type serine protease inhibitor domain, an immunoglobulin-like domain, and an insulin-like growth factor-binding domain. It is involved in bone development and regeneration, likely supporting osteoblast proliferation and matrix assembly. KAZALD1 is hypomethylated and overexpressed in high-grade gliomas, suggesting a role in tumor cell proliferation. It belongs to the IGFBP superfamily and is related to extracellular matrix organization and growth factor regulation
