Overview

KCNK10 antisense RNA 1 (KCNK10-AS1, also called AL133279.1) is a long non-coding RNA gene located in the human genome and transcribed antisense to the KCNK10 locus[4][5][7][9]. As with other lncRNAs, its primary presumed function is the regulation of gene expression, typically by sequence complementarity to the corresponding sense transcript, potentially influencing mRNA stability or chromatin remodeling. There is currently no evidence that this gene encodes a receptor, ion channel, enzyme, or that it is directly implicated as a therapeutic target[4][5][9]. Function-specific or disease-specific associations for KCNK10-AS1 have not been published in peer-reviewed literature or annotated in leading biological databases as of September 2025.
