Overview

KCNMB3P1 (KCNMB3 pseudogene 1), also known as KCNMB3L1, is a transcribed unprocessed pseudogene located at chromosome 22q11.1 (genomic coordinates 22:16,575,363-16,582,707)[6]. It is related by sequence to the functional gene KCNMB3, which encodes the beta-3 subunit of large conductance calcium-activated potassium channels (MaxiK/BK channels)[1][3][4]. However, KCNMB3P1 does not produce a functional protein and is not considered a receptor, enzyme, transporter, or therapeutic drug target.
