Overview

KDM5C intronic transcript 1 (KDM5C-IT1) is a long non-coding RNA (lncRNA) transcribed from within the introns of the KDM5C gene. It is not a protein-coding gene, an enzyme, or a therapeutic target (such as receptor, enzyme, transporter, etc.). There is currently no significant molecular or clinical evidence in public biomedical resources establishing KDM5C-IT1 as a functional target in disease or therapy. The KDM5C gene, by contrast, encodes a lysine-specific demethylase involved in epigenetic regulation, but KDM5C-IT1 is a distinct non-coding RNA and is not considered a direct therapeutic target[3][4][5]. If you intended to refer to the protein-coding gene KDM5C, see entries for the histone demethylase KDM5C. Otherwise, there is no evidence KDM5C-IT1 should be used as a canonical molecular target.
