Kelch repeat and BTB domain-containing protein 12 (KBTBD12) is a cytoplasmic protein predicted to function as a substrate adaptor in ubiquitin ligase complexes, specifically as part of the Cul3-RING ubiquitin ligase complex[1][3][7][8]. KBTBD12 has been implicated in processes including epigenetically regulated alternative splicing in HPV-related oropharyngeal cancer, differential gene expression in colorectal adenomas, and genetic associations with frailty in aging populations[1]. It is not currently recognized as a major therapeutic target, and there are no drugs known to directly interact with it[1][3]. However, its roles in cancer and other disease-associated processes suggest biomarker or research utility.
