Kelch repeat and BTB domain-containing protein 3 (KBTBD3) is a protein encoded by the human KBTBD3 gene located on chromosome 11. It is a member of the BTB-Kelch protein family, containing a BTB/POZ (Broad-Complex, Tramtrack and Bric à brac/Poxvirus and zinc finger) domain, a BACK domain, and five kelch repeats. Proteins in this family often participate as substrate adaptors in Cullin-3-based E3 ubiquitin ligase complexes, facilitating ubiquitin-dependent protein degradation. While KBTBD3 is predicted to act as a ubiquitin ligase substrate adaptor component of the Cul3-RING ubiquitin ligase complex and may participate in proteasomal degradation pathways, its specific biological function remains uncharacterized. No validated disease associations or therapeutic targeting evidence currently exist, and no drugs or established biomarkers are known for this target[3][5][7][10].
