Target intelligence / Profile preview
Keratin 18 pseudogene 1 (KRT18P1), also known as dJ25J6.3, is a nonfunctional, processed pseudogene related to the keratin 18 gene. Pseudogenes like KRT18P1 do not encode active proteins and are typically regarded as genomic remnants without current biological activity. While the functional keratin 18 protein is involved in the structure and regulation of epithelial cells and is prominent in cancer diagnostics, KRT18P1 does not participate in these processes nor serve as a therapeutic target[5].
