Target intelligence / Profile preview
Keratin 18 pseudogene 32 (KRT18P32) is a processed pseudogene for the KRT18 gene, which codes for a type I intermediate filament protein found in simple epithelial tissues. Unlike the functional KRT18 gene, KRT18P32 does not produce a functional protein and is considered non-coding. Human keratin pseudogenes, including multiple KRT18-related processed pseudogenes, are present throughout the genome and do not have established biological roles, protein products, disease associations, or relevance as therapeutic targets[3].
