Target intelligence / Profile preview
Keratin 8 pseudogene 48 (KRT8P48) is a member of the keratin 8 pseudogene family in Homo sapiens. Pseudogenes are genomic DNA sequences similar to normal genes but are typically non-functional due to mutations, truncations, or lack of essential regulatory elements. KRT8P48 does not encode a functional protein and is not known to have a role as a therapeutic target, biomarker, or to have disease associations. It serves mainly as a genomic remnant of the keratin 8 gene[5][6][9].
