Overview

Keratin-like protein KRT222 is a predicted structural protein that is encoded by the KRT222 gene in humans, located on chromosome 17q21.2. It is predicted to be part of the intermediate filament protein family, similar to other keratins that provide structural support within cells[1][2][3][8]. This gene has also been described as a pseudogene (KRT222P). There is no evidence that KRT222 is a receptor, enzyme, transporter, or established drug target. Its biological function is currently predicted rather than experimentally validated, and no disease associations or drug interactions are well established in scientific literature[1][2][8].
