IGF2BP3 is an RNA-binding protein that regulates the stability, degradation, localization, and transport of target RNAs. It is overexpressed in various cancers and is considered a potential diagnostic marker. It contains two N-terminal RNA recognition motifs (RRMs) and four C-terminal K homology (KH) domains, which are critical for RNA binding.
Small molecule inhibitors targeting related family members’ KH domains have shown promise preclinically—for example inhibiting KRAS-driven oncogenic signaling via disruption at specific KH domain interfaces.
