KIF26B antisense RNA 2 (KIF26B-AS2) is a presumed long noncoding RNA (lncRNA) transcribed antisense to the KIF26B gene, which encodes a kinesin superfamily protein essential for vertebrate development, cell adhesion, and implicated in multiple cancers and organogenesis[2][3][4][5][1]. There is currently no experimental evidence in the peer-reviewed literature for a biological function, disease association, or therapeutic potential of KIF26B-AS2, and it is not recognized as a therapeutic or diagnostic target. All relevant scientific and therapeutic data concern the protein-coding KIF26B gene, not its antisense lncRNA. Independent characterization of KIF26B-AS2 as a drug target has not been reported, and its molecular role, if any, remains unelucidated.
