KIR3DP1 is a human pseudogene similar to killer cell immunoglobulin-like receptors, a family of immunoglobulin superfamily transmembrane glycoproteins found on natural killer (NK) cells and some T cells[2][6][1]. Unlike functional KIR genes, pseudogenes such as KIR3DP1 do not produce functional receptor proteins and do not directly participate in immune regulatory functions, serve as therapeutic targets, or act as disease biomarkers. The KIR gene family is highly polymorphic and polygenic, with nomenclature specifying domain number, cytoplasmic tail length, and pseudogene status. The pseudogenes are part of the genomic region but lack receptor activity and therapeutic utility. This entry is considered incorrect or non-actionable for drug discovery or therapeutic intervention as it represents a pseudogene rather than a druggable target, enzyme, receptor, or biomarker[2][6].
