Overview

Killer cell lectin like receptor A1, pseudogene (KLRA1P) is classified as a pseudogene in humans and does not code for a functional protein. The Ly49 gene family encodes activating and inhibitory receptors on natural killer (NK) cells in mice, but in humans, the corresponding region consists of pseudogenes such as KLRA1P, which are not expressed as proteins and have no known biological or therapeutic function. KLRA1P is not considered a therapeutic target, and its nomenclature overlap with functional mouse Ly49 receptors can be a source of confusion[1][2][6][7].
