Killer cell lectin-like receptor subfamily B member 1C (Klrb1c, also known as NK1.1 or NKR-P1C) is a mouse type II transmembrane protein and member of the C-type lectin-like receptor family. Expressed on the surface of natural killer (NK) cells and a subset of T cells (notably NKT cells), Klrb1c serves as a marker for these populations in certain mouse strains (e.g., C57BL/6). The receptor participates in recognition of endogenous ligands, transducing activating signals that enhance NK cell cytotoxicity through calcium flux and downstream pathways. Its human paralog is KLRB1 (CD161). Klrb1c is frequently used as a marker in immunological studies but is also functionally implicated in immune regulation, including infection, inflammation, and anti-tumor responses[5][6][7][8][10].
