Target intelligence / Profile preview
KRT83 antisense RNA 1 (KRT83-AS1) is a long non-coding RNA (lncRNA) gene transcribed antisense to the KRT83 locus[5]. As an antisense RNA, it is presumed to regulate the expression of the KRT83 gene, either through direct base pairing with KRT83 mRNA or via epigenetic mechanisms affecting transcription[2][5][12]. There is currently no evidence that KRT83-AS1 encodes a protein or acts as a therapeutic target, nor is it specifically associated with any known diseases or drugs. Antisense RNAs generally play roles in the fine-tuning of gene expression but the biological functions and disease relationships of KRT83-AS1 remain uncharacterized in published literature[5][12].
