L-lactate dehydrogenase A chain (LDHA) is a key enzyme in anaerobic glycolysis, catalyzing the reversible conversion of pyruvate to L-lactate. It is essential for energy production in low-oxygen conditions and is highly expressed in muscle tissue and many tumors. LDHA supports tumor development, invasion, and metastasis by enabling metabolic adaptation under hypoxia.
