L-lactate dehydrogenase A-like 6A (LDHAL6A) is an enzyme encoded by the LDHAL6A gene located on chromosome 11p15.1[1][3][6]. It is a 332-amino acid cytoplasmic protein that catalyzes the interconversion of L-lactate and pyruvate using NAD+ as a coenzyme, playing a role similar to other lactate dehydrogenases[3][4][6]. Unlike other isoforms, its gene is expressed exclusively in human testis, and overexpression can increase the transcriptional activity of JUN transcription factors[1][3]. There is no current evidence of therapeutic targeting, consistent links to major diseases, or established drug interactions beyond physiological use of NADH/NAD+, and limited information on clinical or safety relevance[2][5][6].
