L-selectin (CD62L)

Target
CD62L
Molecular classification
Type-I transmembrane glycoprotein, Cell adhesion molecule, Lectin, Receptor
01

Overview

L-selectin, also known as CD62L, is a type-I transmembrane glycoprotein and cell adhesion molecule expressed on leukocytes. It plays a critical role in leukocyte trafficking, mediating the initial tethering and rolling of leukocytes on endothelial cells, facilitating their migration to sites of inflammation and injury. L-selectin is involved in both adhesive interactions and intracellular signaling, influencing integrin activation and chemotaxis. It is a therapeutic target for inflammatory and autoimmune diseases.
