Target intelligence / Profile preview
LAGE-1a is an isoform of the LAGE-1 protein, a cancer/testis antigen (CTA) encoded by the CTAG2 gene. Its expression is normally restricted to the testis but is aberrantly activated in various cancers, making it a potential target for T cell-based immunotherapies. LAGE-1a expression is often correlated with NY-ESO-1 and is induced by DNA demethylation.
Target of T cell-based immunotherapies (e.g., vaccines, adoptive T cell transfer) aiming to induce an immune response against tumor cells expressing LAGE-1a.
