Lanthionine synthetase C-like protein 2 (LANCL2) is a multifunctional, membrane-associated protein implicated in metabolic regulation, immune modulation, and cell survival. It acts as a receptor for abscisic acid (ABA) and other small molecules, facilitating activation of signaling pathways. LANCL2 interacts with Akt kinase and mTORC2 complex, promoting Akt phosphorylation and enhancing cell survival. It also regulates glucose uptake and orchestrates immunoregulatory mechanisms, making it a promising drug target for metabolic, autoimmune, and inflammatory diseases.
