Target intelligence / Profile preview
LAP3 antisense RNA 1 (LAP3-AS1), also known as MED28 divergent transcript (MED28-DT), is a long non-coding RNA (lncRNA) located antisense to the LAP3 gene and divergent from the MED28 gene. It is also known in genome annotation as AC006160.1. LAP3-AS1 is not currently recognized as a receptor, enzyme, transporter, or other classical drug target in therapeutic literature. LncRNAs like LAP3-AS1 are generally involved in regulation of gene expression, often through chromatin remodeling, regulation of transcription, or other epigenetic processes. However, detailed functions for LAP3-AS1 or MED28-DT have not been validated in the peer-reviewed literature. Its description, nomenclature, and function remain limited to genomic annotation, with no established role in disease, drug targeting, or biomarker use. The alias “MED28-DT” is considered non-standard, with “LAP3 antisense RNA 1 (LAP3-AS1)” being the best-characterized and accepted name.
