Overview
LARGE1 antisense RNA 2 (LARGE1-AS2) is predicted to be an antisense long non-coding RNA transcribed from the opposite strand of the LARGE1 gene locus. Antisense long non-coding RNAs can regulate the expression of their sense genes via multiple mechanisms, including modulation of mRNA stability, recruitment of chromatin modifiers, and participation in epigenetic regulation. However, as of now, there is no direct scientific evidence or peer-reviewed research describing the biological function, disease association, or therapeutic relevance of LARGE1-AS2 specifically. Its existence is inferred from genomic annotation, but it is not a characterized molecular target.
