Target intelligence / Profile preview
LEMD1 divergent transcript (LEMD1-DT or lncRNA LEMD1-AS1) is a long non-coding RNA transcribed from a region near the LEM domain containing 1 (LEMD1) gene. It has been shown to regulate the stability and expression of the LEMD1 gene, contributing to increased LEMD1 mRNA and protein levels. Through this regulatory effect, LEMD1-DT promotes cancer cell migration, invasion, and metastasis, at least in oral squamous cell carcinoma and potentially other cancers where LEMD1 functions as an oncogene. LEMD1-DT itself is not a protein-coding gene or classical therapeutic target, but its modulation of oncogenic pathways suggests potential as a biomarker or future target for cancer intervention.
