Leucine aminopeptidase 3 pseudogene 1 (LAP3P1) is a pseudogene located in the human genome, related but nonfunctional compared to the protein-coding gene LAP3. Unlike LAP3, which encodes an enzyme involved in the hydrolysis of N-terminal amino acids from peptides and has biological and pathological relevance, LAP3P1 does not encode a functional product and is not considered a therapeutic target nor associated with disease processes or drug interactions.
