Overview

Leucine-rich repeat and coiled-coil centrosomal protein 1 (LRRCC1) is a centrosomal protein essential for the organization and maintenance of the structural integrity of centrosomes during mitosis. It contains an N-terminal leucine-rich repeat domain and a C-terminal coiled-coil domain and accumulates at the centrosome throughout the cell cycle, particularly during mitosis, where it is required for proper mitotic spindle formation[1][2][3][7]. There is no current evidence that LRRCC1 is directly targeted by any drugs, nor is it classified as an enzyme, receptor, transporter, or channel. Defects in LRRCC1 have been associated with certain developmental syndromes, reflecting its fundamental role in cell division[1].
