Leucine-rich repeat-containing protein 24 (LRRC24) is a single-pass transmembrane protein encoded by the *LRRC24* gene in humans. It belongs to the leucine-rich repeat (LRR) superfamily, characterized by tandem LRR domains that typically mediate protein-protein interactions. LRRC24 contains six LRRs and an immunoglobulin-like domain. Its mature form localizes to the cell surface membrane and may be secreted, as indicated by a signal peptide. The specific physiological role of LRRC24 remains undefined, but it is predicted to be involved in regulating synapse assembly and is expressed in various tissues, including brain and select glandular cells. There is no current evidence classifying LRRC24 as a therapeutic drug target, nor are there approved drugs, biomarkers, or known safety concerns related to this protein[1][5][9][10].
