Leucine-rich repeat-containing protein 28 (LRRC28) is a member of the leucine-rich repeat (LRR) superfamily, structurally characterized by tandem arrays of LRR motifs, which are typically involved in protein–protein interactions and signal transduction. The specific function of LRRC28 in humans remains poorly characterized; however, it is predicted to play a role in intracellular signal transduction and may participate in RAS-mediated signaling pathways. LRRC28 is downregulated in colorectal cancer tissue, implicating it in tumorigenesis and suggesting a putative negative regulatory role in autophagy. The protein does not currently have any known therapeutic drugs targeting it and is not classified as an established therapeutic target.
