Leucine-rich repeat-containing protein 43 (LRRC43) is a protein-coding gene product predicted to enable dynein complex binding activity and to be involved in axoneme assembly, a structure critical for cilia and flagella function[1][3][9]. The protein is annotated as being active in the axoneme. Although LRRC43 is associated with conditions such as combined oxidative phosphorylation deficiency 4 and hyaline fibromatosis syndrome based on gene–disease association studies, there is currently no evidence that this protein is a direct therapeutic target, receptor, enzyme, transporter, or other canonical druggable entity[3]. It is generally classified among "Other" protein families according to large-scale annotation resources, with no established drug interactions or known clinical biomarkers[1][3][8][10].
