Leucine-rich repeat-containing protein 47 (LRRC47) is a protein encoded by the LRRC47 gene in humans. It features multiple leucine-rich repeats, which are typically involved in protein-protein interactions. Experimental data indicate that LRRC47 has RNA binding capacity and is predicted to participate in phenylalanyl-tRNA aminoacylation, suggesting a possible link to translation machinery[1][3][4]. Phosphoproteomic analyses show that LRRC47 is dynamically phosphorylated in response to vasopressin in kidney collecting duct cells, implying involvement in rapid signal transduction regulating water balance, possibly through the aquaporin pathway[1]. Additionally, network studies have linked LRRC47 to oncogenic signaling modules in hepatocellular carcinoma. However, no direct evidence identifies LRRC47 as a receptor, druggable enzyme, or transporter, and there are no known approved therapeutic drugs targeting it[1][3]. While implicated in cellular signaling and possibly cancer biology, its precise molecular function and implication as a therapeutic target require further elucidation.
