Leucine-rich repeat-containing protein 53 (LRRC53)

Leucine-rich repeat-containing protein 53 (LRRC53) is a member of the leucine-rich repeat (LRR) protein family, which are generally implicated in mediating protein–protein interactions. LRRC53 is a protein-coding gene in humans, but its precise biological function is currently unknown. It has been associated, at the genetic level, with diseases involving cardiac conduction and atrial conduction. The broader LRR family includes proteins important for innate immunity and neural development, although LRRC53's specific roles in such processes are undefined.
